2022 Michigan 5k SCADaddle©

After a 2-year delay due to COVID, our 1st annual Michigan 5K SCADaddle© for Research fun run/walk took place on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at beautiful Lake St. Clair Metropark, Harrison Charter Township, Michigan.

There were over 165 registered to attend in-person and six registered to participate virtually. Registrants included 12 survivors and three virtual survivors. All in-person participants received a SCADaddle© medal as they crossed the finish line.

Afterwards, participants enjoyed refreshments, face painting, shopped the SCAD store and purchase tickets for a drawing on a beautiful quilt and baskets of items. Thank you to all who joined in the festivities and helped to make this year’s SCADaddle such a success!

Volunteers

SCAD Research,Inc. is an all-volunteer organization. We truly appreciate Karen Glugla for chairing the SCADaddle and those who helped Karen along the way. Despite planning and then postponing the Michigan SCADaddle in 2020 and 2021, Karen remained enthusiastic and her persistence paid off!

April Rourke winner w Karen Glugla SCAD Warrior Quilt

This bright, cheerful SCAD Warrior quilt was made by Donna Tavalieri in honor of her friend Karen Glugla, a SCAD survivor. On the back of the quilt is a wonderful tribute to Karen. The lucky winner of this beautiful quilt was survivor April Rourke.
