2023 National Event

Our 10th National chip-timed run/walk on June 17, 2023 at Danada Forest Preserve, Wheaton, IL was a great success, raising thousands of dollars for research!

Participants enjoyed a warm up conducted by Jazzercise Glen Ellyn Fitness Center. Carrie Hamilton shared her amazing survivor story.

Prior to the start of the 5K, participants lined up along both sides of the trail and recognized survivors as they processed together towards the start line.

All runners/walkers were timed. Gift certificates were awarded to Nathan Brinkoetter, overall 1st place male finisher and Meg Zaino, overall 1st place female finisher. Overall 2nd and 3rd place male/female finishers and top three finishers by age categories received a special heart-shaped cookie. Medals were given to all participants.

Following the 5K, participants browsed items from our SCAD store, enjoyed refreshments and face painting.

To help celebrate our 10th National SCADaddles, a complimentary Chicago-style hot dog lunch was served.
