Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection

Spontaneous…WHAT?

June 7, 2017

I am a 47 year old female. I have been eating healthy and exercising regular for the past 2.5 years. Lost 30 lbs and feeling good. It was Monday 5/22/17, it was a normal day. Worked all day, went to the gym and did my normal routine, went to get my hair done and then decided to go for a walk to a nearby park- relaxing, water, fresh air.

Within minutes , I suddenly get short of breathe, then pressure in my chest and my left are was tingling. I then turned around and drove to closet hospital. The next day I had a cardiac cath that showed SCAD…..What is that?? Still have symptoms the next day and had a cardic echo… May 25th went back to cath lab for 38mm stent. Went home on 4 new medications and have to attend cardiac rehab. I still exercise, and still feel constant chest pain and sometimes tightness in my upper back (new for me). No shortness of breathe like before.

I would like other people to be aware of SCAD and to better their health.
