Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection

Dedication

Judith Meyer Alico

1959 – 2011

Judy graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Visual Communications. She started her own company, Alico Design, Inc. in 1989.  Judy, her husband Bob and daughter Lauren lived in Naperville, Illinois, before moving to Scottsdale, Arizona in 2001.Judy-Alico

At the age of 51, Judy was in very good health. She did not have one risk factor for any heart problem that doctors would look for to indicate any concern. Yet, in an instant, Judy had a heart attack caused by Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) and was gone in two days.

Such a devastating event can bring a family to its knees in anguish. They can either decide to withdraw for self-preservation or to take action to help prevent others from suffering in the same way.  Bob and Lauren Alico made the decision to take action.

The mission of SCAD Research, Inc. is to raise awareness and funds to find answers to the many unknowns of SCAD.  We are dedicated to those families who have been impacted by SCAD.
