Join us at our 9th annual 5K to raise money for much needed research on the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50 – spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD).

The chip timed SCADaddle© Run/Walk will take place at Danada Forest Preserve in Wheaton, IL. The USATF certified 5K course runs through and around the park on a varied terrain of crushed cinder, concrete sidewalk and grass. The run starts at 9:00 am and all participants will be timed. Awards/recognition will be given to top male & female overall finishers and by age categories.

In addition to the 5K, there will be refreshments, an awards ceremony, a silent auction, face painting and fun for the whole family!

The 5K chip-timed run/walk will take place on an USATF Certified crushed limestone course. The course winds through the preserve’s prairie and woodland habitats. Refreshments, awards ceremony and a silent auction will take place after the 5K.

When you register, please consider forming a team and/or personalizing your own fundraising page. You can email a link to your fundraising or team page to those you know as well as post on social media. Thank you for helping to raise funds for research!

Awards & Recognitions

Awards will be given to overall winner male and female. Medals/recognition will be given to 2nd and 3rd place male/female overall and to the top three males/females in age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80 and older.

Special Event for Survivors, Supporters & Families Impacted by SCAD

In addition to the 5K, we have a special Friday evening planned for SCAD Survivors, their supporters and families of loved ones who did not survive (our SCAD Angels). You’ll have the opportunity to meet new & reconnect with old friends impacted by SCAD, along with many Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program team members. We hope you will join us!

6:30pm Dinner
7:30pm Drs. Sharonne Hayes, Timothy Olson (Genetic Lab) and Marysia S. Tweet from the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program will present the latest research findings.

  • 4oz. Chicken marinated in basil with cucumber relish, harvest salad, Champagne vinaigrette, fresh rolls/butter, roasted potatoes, asparagus in a squash ring, dessert coffee/tea

Our Embassy Suites in Naperville (1823 Abriter Ct, Naperville, IL 60563) group rate is $149/night for 1 king suite, 2 queen/2 room suite or 2 queen/2 room accessible (when booking the accessible rooms, please check the box on the left column.)

Your stay includes an evening reception featuring complimentary small plates and drink options, a made to order hot breakfast and free parking.
