It’s our 3rd annual 5K fun run/walk to raise money for important research on the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50 – spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD)!

SCAD is a cause of a heart attack not associated with the typical risk factors of heart disease. It strikes without warning when a sudden tear occurs within the layers of one or more coronary arteries, blocking blood flow to the heart. In addition to being the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, SCAD is also the #1 cause of heart attacks in women who are pregnant and new moms. Although less common, SCAD can affect men too. SCAD can recur and it can be fatal.
