Dr. Eugenia Gianos

Dr. Gianos has a significant interest in the recognition of cardiovascular risk factors and the assessment of tools to optimize diagnosis and treatment. She is the principal investigator of the IMPACT (Investigation of Motivational Interviewing and Prevention Consults to Achieve Cardiovascular Targets) trial and the NYU Langone Preventive Cardiology Research Registry. She is also an attending physician in echocardiography and nuclear medicine and a member of the NYU Langone Women’s Heart Center. She serves on the board for the Northeast Chapter of the National Lipid Association and is actively involved in the organization.

Several years ago Dr. Gianos developed an interest in SCAD and currently has a population of SCAD patients from the East Coast who she cares for in collaboration with Dr. Hayes and Mayo Clinic. Because of her back ground in prevention, Dr. Gianos is interested in the lifestyle components and cardiovascular risk factors that contribute to SCAD.
