Our 2023 5K SCADaddles for Research run/walks are in full swing thanks to an amazing group of volunteers! SCADaddles are our not just fundraisers, they are an opportunity to get together, have fun and support each other.
If you haven’t already registered, we hope you will join us at one of our upcoming SCADaddle run/walks. Visit our schedule page for more details. All SCADaddles have an option to participate virtually as well.
Minnesota 5K SCADaddle – May 13 – Success!
The first 5K of the season took place on May 13 at Battle Creek Regional Park, just outside St. Paul, Minnesota! Thank you Kelley Hoolihan for all of your work organizing a great and very successful weekend. Watch for weekend highlights in the near future.
National/Chicago Area SCADaddle – June 17
Come celebrate our 10th National SCADaddle at Danada Forest Preserve, Wheaton, IL. The chip-timed run/walk takes place on a USATF certified course. Dr. Sharonne Hayes & Dr. Marysia Tweet, from Mayo Clinic, will be joining us and sharing Mayo Clinic’s latest research findings at the SCAD Social/Reunion Dinner on June 16. Thank you Ellen Robin for organizing this year’s National SCADaddle weekend.
West Coast (San Diego) SCADaddle – Sept. 9
You won’t want to miss our 7th West Coast 5K SCADaddle in beautiful San Diego, CA. Our timed run/walk takes place at of Crown Point Park on the East side of Mission Bay. Dr. Patricia Best from Mayo Clinic will be joining us and sharing their latest research findings at the SCAD Social/Reunion Dinner on Sept. 8. Thank you Ellen Robin and Gina Hernandez for organizing this year’s SCADaddle.
Michigan SCADaddle – Sept. 23
Enjoy our 2nd Michigan 5K SCADaddle fun run/walk taking place at Lake St. Clair Metropark in Harrison Charter Township. The Michigan SCADaddle is only about 20 miles NE of downtown Detroit. Meet others impacted by SCAD as well as their supporters. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you Karen Glugla for chairing the SCADaddle again this year.
Greater Lehigh Valley (PA) SCADaddle – Sept. 30
We can’t wait for our 6th Greater Lehigh Valley SCADaddle at Upper Saucon Township Community Park, Center Valley, PA. This year’s SCADaddle will be a timed run/walk. A great day is being planned with a picnic style lunch afterwards under the pavilion. Thank you Kayla Karan and Susan Edelman for chairing the 2023 SCADaddle.
Can’t Be There In Person?
Register to be a virtual participant at any of the above SCADaddles. There is no registration fee to participate virtually and you can set up a fundraising page to raise funds for research! Simply click any of the links above to register. While a 5K t-shirt is not included with your registration fee, you can order a SCADaddle shirt from our SCAD Store.
