Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection

Introducing…SCAD Angels Facebook Support Group

October 1, 2017

SCAD Angels

Most people who experience a SCAD survive; unfortunately some do not. Those who do not survive leave behind families who become part of the SCAD community.

SCAD Research has started a closed Facebook Group called SCAD Angels for families whose loved ones did not survive. To join, click https://www.facebook.com/groups/SCADGriefSupport/

SCAD Angels purpose is to provide families whose loved ones did not survive a warm, supportive, positive, safe space to share experiences and stories. Since angel is a term of endearment and an angel is a spiritual being, we decided on the name SCAD Angels. We are not a religious affiliated group.

The administrators are not social workers, psychologist or grief counselors. They are simply two people who lost a family member to SCAD. The administrators of the group are Susan Edelman, whose daughter did not survive and Jan Saillard, whose sister did not survive.

We would especially like to thank Susan for approaching us about a support group for family members. Since SCAD Research, Inc was founded by a family whose loved one did not survive, it seemed like a perfect fit.

If you have lost a family member to SCAD, please join SCAD Angels. If you know someone who lost a family member to SCAD, please help us spread the word!
