Ceremonial Check Presented to Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program

March 8, 2020

Our ceremonial check presentation of $150,000 to Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program took place on January 30. The check was presented by two families who lost their loved ones to SCAD (SCAD Angels) – Susan Edelman & Kayla Karan and Jan & Rick Saillard.

Prior to the presentation, Susan, Kayla, Jan and Rick toured the Mayo Clinic museum to learn about the history and philosophy of Mayo Clinic. Following the ceremonial check presentation, they enjoyed lunch with members of the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Team, visited the Genetic Research lab with Dr. Olson and went to St. Mary Hospital, which is part of Mayo Clinic, to stop by the beautiful chapel.

Thank you Mayo Clinic SCAD researchers & staff for your dedication, hospitality and pictures. Thank you to SCAD survivors, SCAD Angels families and SCAD supporters for your generosity.

SCAD Research, Inc. has donated a total of $965,000 to research since we started in 2011. The vast majority of this money has been awarded to the research program at Mayo Clinic.
