$100,000 Check Presentation to Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program

On October 27, 2014 Heidi (survivor) and Nat Henson presented Mayo Clinic a ceremonial check for $100,000 on SCAD Research, Inc.’s behalf. Our founder, Bob Alico (center) was also at the presentation and reception which followed.

This donation will be used to further research under the leadership of Dr. Sharonne Hayes. The presentation of the ceremonial check to Mayo Clinic represents the hard work and support of SCAD Survivors and their families as well as those families whose loved ones did not survive

For an interview with Heidi, Bob and Dr. Sharonne Hayes visit Postbulletin.com. For additional information, visit Mayo’s e-mail newsletter and blog “In the Loop”.

After the reception, Traci Klein, Mayo PR, took Bob on a tour to learn more about SCAD genetic research, see a display names of major donors, visit the Spirit Center and meet Dr. Rajiv Gulati.

Dr. Timothy Olson, principle investigator of SCAD DNA research, explains to Bob the process and procedures being used in genetic research to find answers to questions about SCAD.

A very unexpected area of Mayo is their Spirit Center. Traci and Bob wrote a prayer dedication for Bob’s wife Judy, who did not survive SCAD. People stop by and take these dedications from the wall and pray for the intention. This was a very touching moment.
