SCAD diagnosed February 26th, 2019 – Female Aged 56

March 4, 2019

As with most of other accounts. 56 year old female, fit (enough) never smoked…
Monday night, after a very busy weekend – was about to sleep at midnight and felt crazy heaviness on my chest. Got up, walked around, had a drink, trying to decide if I should go to hospital. Laid back down. At 1:00 pm. it started again. This time took notice and headed to hospital.

Blood showed elevated (0.06 ) troponine. Dr. said thus, we know something has happened.Later blood work showed 0.23 level of troponine. By 2:30 that afternoon had an angiogram which concluded SCAD. The doctor said after procedure that she was almost positive what she was going to find due to my health and age. So small tear in artery.
Now waiting to find out next steps to see the implications long term. I know I have been told to do next to nothing for the next 4 – 6 weeks.. while healing happens.

History of migraines for myself and my mother, Mother also had brain aneurysm which left her basically bed ridden (unable to talk or move) for 18 years. I believe there is a correlation and it is mentioned that there is a genetic predisposition and talk of irregular? chromosome 6p24… much more research to do for sure.
