Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection

Deadline Reminder for SCAD Research Grant(s) Offered by SCAD Research, Inc.

July 13, 2019

In 2019, in addition to the annual gift to the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program, SCAD Research, Inc. is pleased to offer one or more grants up to $25,000 total to fund other SCAD research projects that meet a set of criteria. This grant was announced during SCAD Heart Attack Awareness Week in February.

The SCAD Research, Inc., Board of Directors will review grant applications and will identify the grant recipient(s) and amount of the award. Grant applications are due by August 1, 2019. Final grant decision will be announced on or before December 1, 2019. To request information and an application, email scadinfo@scadresearch.org.

The Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program, led by Dr. Sharonne Hayes, was the first and only research focused exclusively on SCAD at the time SCAD Research, Inc. started in 2011. As of December 2018, SCAD Research, Inc., has raised and donated a total of $800,000 to the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program since 2011.

In the past few years, other SCAD research programs have been initiated. As an organization supporting research, our supporters hope these additional research programs will help validate and expand the wealth of knowledge that Mayo Clinic has helped to uncover over the past several years about the best practices in the diagnosis and treatment of SCAD.
